This is why it's fun living in Southern California...Going to the beach in January without totally freezing! This is such a great family. I love being able to follow up with families after some time to see where they are and how the kids have grown. This time my sweet husband and kids came along. I couldn't very well run to the beach without them! We only had a few minutes before sunset to do these pictures, but I was very pleased with the ones we got. Love the shot with G-ma and BabaJoon and all the grandkids. Lots of love in this family!!
Since we ran out of light, we had to do a "to be continued" on this cute family, but since they live right around the corner, it'll be all good. So you have something to look forward to!!
This past week I had the opportunity to attend a Hi-Desert Republican Women, Federated Meeting. I was invited by their President, Cheryl Bluy, to come and take some candid photos for their historian. This was a group of many aged women, but who all share an obvious passion for democracy and taking personal steps to help others in the community be a catalyst for truth and accurate information. I don't even know this woman's name...She was in charge of checking us in before the meeting, but I was smitten with her smile and beautiful white hair. As I was going through the pictures I took, I couldn't help but feel connected to this picture. This is true beauty. A woman who has aged gracefully and lives to smile about.
At first this sweet little baby was not too keen on the whole sleeping idea or at least not with both eyes closed! Mom and I were persistent and she finally gave in. I absolutely love the shots we got. She looks like a tiny little angel! Creamy white skin and so perfect. Plus it was the first time using my new bean bag which I now totally LOVE for baby portraits. Definitely gets them all cute and cozy.
See...even not sleeping, she was still just precious!
It's amazing what not having the internet up and running will do to my editing and posting pictures! It's like that little angel on your shoulder that keeps whispering "Put down the chocolate!" Ha!
These beautiful kids are always fun for me to photograph. Especially when they get all giggly - which isn't too hard! This session of headshots is just part of the pictures we're doing. We've got a family session coming up in a few weeks that I'm really looking forward to; then you'll see why these kids are so gorgeous!
What a fun way to start the new year! Amber and I went to High School together nearly 15 years ago. She now has a beautiful family with 3 adorable little ones. They were so sweet and fun to photograph. It was really a treat for me personally and professionally. Just another reason to LOVE what I get to do! Thanks guys!

I am proud to be a wife and stay at home mother of FIVE darling, adorable, wonderful children married to my very best friend.
As a photographer, I prefer my personal portrait style to be more photo journalistic than posed. I want to show families as real people full of quirks and life. I want you to see yourselves as loving, connected people, not just properly lined up dots on a page. I LOVE capturing those precious moments in the lives of a family that define who we are!
Although I do have a small studio in my home, my favorite location to shoot is definitely outdoors at that "Golden Hour" right before sunset! To see more of my current work, follow me on Facebook!
